Working with queries
Transcript:
- The 'Monitoring' module allows monitors to create queries for fields in a study.
 - These queries are issues the monitor has identified with the value entered in a field.
 - Queries need to be closed for a record to be marked as complete.
 - Users with only data-entry rights can see all queries for a record on the record's 'Monitoring' tab.
 - Queries can only be created by users with the 'Query' right.
 - To create a query for a field, while in the relevant form, click on the cogwheel icon to the right of the question.
 - From the presented options, choose ‘Queries’
 - This will open a new dialog, where you can add your remark and click on ‘Update’ to save the query.
 - The query dialog displays the following - the current query status,
 - The ‘Change status to’ dropdown - here you can change the status to Closed when necessary
 - Remarks - This is where all remarks entered by you or by data entry users are listed
 - Once you have added a query, you will see that the field status has been updated to incomplete, as indicated by the orange bullet.
 - The query icon (question mark) will appear next to the field
 - To update the status of a query the user should choose the appropriate status from the drop-down, enter a remark, and press the 'Update' button
 - The status of the query is set to “New” until the user updates it to one of the following options:
 - Unconfirmed: The user does not agree with the monitor, or needs further clarification or information.
 - Confirmed: The user agrees with the monitor and will resolve the issue.
 - Resolved: The user has changed the value and indicates the issue is resolved.
 - There are three types of query icons:
 - Open (includes confirmed and unconfirmed queries), Resolved, and Closed.
 - Only when the query is closed this field will be marked as complete again (green bullet).
 - Only the monitor or another user with Query rights can close a query.
 - System created queries can also be configured by the study admin using the Automation Engine
 - When this is the case, the queries are automatically generated when the defined conditions are met.
 - All queries for a record and their status are listed and can be reviewed from the record’s Monitoring tab, Queries subtab
 - Existing queries are indicated with their respective icon in the Records list, in the ‘Queries’ column
 - The query icon will also appear for a record in the Phase and step view
 - All queries for all records in the study are available in the global Monitoring tab
 - It is good to know that it is possible to set up an email notification which will be sent to a selected monitor upon query creation
 - All query creation notifications will be sent to that user.
 - This notification needs to be set up by the study admin in the Settings tab
